Jimmy Kimmel Accused of ‘White Privilege’ on Emmy Stunt

Wearing blackface, sputtering N-words and confirmed ratings poison Jimmy Kimmel is accused of “white privilege” for a stunt he performed at Monday night’s Primetime Emmy Awards.

After driving Emmy ratings to record highs in 2020 (he did the same for the Oscars) (he did the same for his own late-night show), Kimmel wasn’t asked to host this year. . But he was on hand for a skit that explodes in his stupid, woketard face.

The skit involved Will Arnett dragging Kimmel by the feet onto the Emmy stage. The gag was that after losing the “Emmy for Late Night Series for the 13th consecutive time,” Kimmel was too drunk to present the Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series. So while Arnett worked out the details, Kimmel remained on her back, pretending to be unconscious.

So far, so good.

After star and creator Quinta Brunson won the Emmy for writing Abbott Elementary, Kimmel stayed put. Throughout his speech, he stood there stealing the show.

You don’t do that. You present. You go out of the way. The projector no longer belongs to you. You give the spotlight to the winner. That’s what kind people do. That’s what they’ve always done. Kimmel had plenty of time to get up off camera as viewers watched Brunson react to his win and head to the stage. Arnett could also have dragged him off stage to top off the joke.

So now, because he’s a white man and Brunson is a black woman, Jimmy Kimmel has a sweet taste of the woke terror he enables and nurtures.

New York Post:

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel is being accused of “white privilege” after he overshadowed star “Abbott Elementary” designer Quinta Brunson’s 2022 Emmys speech with a decidedly obnoxious skit. Footage of the stunt is going viral as fans of the award show tear up the comic for allegedly ruining his big moment.

Many have accused the host of embodying ‘white male privilege’ with a written review“If #QuintaBrunson stepping over #JimmyKimmel who literally put her in the limelight the day she won an Emmy isn’t a metaphor for what it means to be a WOC in a white man’s world, I don’t know what what it is.”

An angry Twitter post backed up their sentiment, writing, “Jimmy Kimmel owes Quinta an apology, but the screwed up part is every picture of her accepting her award has her ass in it. White men are really insufferable.

The incident also made the rounds on Twitter.

To his undying credit, Brunson revealed something all too rare in entertainment circles today: grace, class, and an unwillingness to grieve. Asked about Kimmel’s stunt, Brunson showed poise and decency.

“I know Jimmy Kimmel. It didn’t bother me,” she said. “Honestly, Jimmy gave me my first big late night spot. He was one of the first people to see ‘Abbott Elementary.’ He was the first person to message me on Instagram.

“He was so excited it was going to be on ABC,” she added. “I was glad it was Jimmy. He’s one of the godfathers of comedy.

Imagine how much better our culture would be if more people were as generous and mature as Brunson. Kimmel could learn a thing or two from Brunson.
