The Las Vegas Raiders, with new starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, are currently 3-4, and while that’s not a terrible record, it’s still a disappointment for a team that has the type of talent she possesses.

They’re coming off an ugly 30-12 loss to the Chicago Bears, a team clearly worse than them, and they’ll face the Detroit Lions this Monday as their schedule gets tougher.

Garoppolo was asked what it would take for the Raiders to turn things around, according to Vegas Sports Today, and he said everyone needs to be together.

The signal-caller has a reputation for being a great leader on and off the field, and it’s a reputation he’s cultivated during his time with the San Francisco 49ers.

He began his career as Tom Brady’s backup with the New England Patriots before the 49ers traded for him in 2017, and upon his arrival there, he resurrected the once-proud franchise.

In his final four seasons there, he led them to the NFC Championship Game three times, and in each of the last two campaigns the Niners were under .500 at the end of October.

In Las Vegas, Garoppolo has Davante Adams, one of the two or three best wide receivers in the NFL, and Josh Jacobs, who led the league in rushing yards last season.

Although Adams is playing well, Jacobs is not, and the team also has issues defensively, especially when it comes to stopping the run.

Several Raiders players have publicly criticized the organization, so Garoppolo’s leadership skills will be sorely needed to stay the course.
