Country singer Jimmie Allen’s 5-week-old daughter was rushed to a Tennessee hospital on Tuesday night after she “stopped breathing,” the singer said.
“Watch out, Doctors, if your one-month-old patient’s parent tells you that the baby is having trouble breathing and that the only thing your sloth wants to do is check his heart and temperature, find another career. Your job is to save lives. so do it, ”tweeted Allen, who won New Artist of the Year at the ACM Awards this month.
“Now, thanks to lazy doctors at a Tennessee hospital who just sent our daughter home, our daughter Zara has lost her color and stopped breathing and is rushed to another hospital,” the tweet continued. “Thanks to the amazing team at EMT who brought Zara’s color back, she can breathe again. The night is going to be tough.”
A day earlier Allen’s wife Alexis Allen wrote on social media: “She was discharged from the hospital yesterday morning. Ambulance at 2 a.m. Basically if your child hasn’t. blue lips, he won’t have any answers for you. It’s been my last 24 hours. “
Allen and his wife tied the knot in May and announced the arrival of their daughter Zara in mid-October.
Allen’s wife previously posted about Zara and the couple’s other daughter, 20-month-old Naomi, struggling with undisclosed illnesses.
“Two sick babies,” the girls’ mother wrote on her Instagram story, which included Zara on her chest. “An exhausted mom.”
Earlier this month, Allen became the second black artist to win the coveted New Artist of the Year award.
At this month’s Country Music Association Awards, Allen and his band performed his latest single, “Freedom Was A Highway”.
