Galatasaray looks set to win the race to sign one of Denmark’s Euro stars – Jens Stryger Larsen.
The Turkish club strike a deal with Udinese for around £ 3.5million (€ 4million) for the right-back, which started in the semi-final loss to England.
Watford – a sister club to Udinese – took an interest in Larsen and he was also followed by West Ham.
But Larsen is said to be drawn to the prospect of playing Champions League football for Galatasaray. They will face PSV Eindhoven in a second round qualifying match on Wednesday.
Larsen has appeared in all of Denmark’s matches at the 2020 Championships, impressing as Denmark progressed through the later stages after Christian Eriksen’s cardiac arrest in the opener.
The 30-year-old has been at Udinese since 2017 after joining Austria Vienna but, after 140 appearances for the Italian club, he has only one year left on his contract.
Watford held on to him as they looked to strengthen themselves after their return to the Premier League. The Hertfordshire club have already been busy in the market with Josh King and Danny Rose joining in on free transfers.
