Jennifer Lopez ‘relieved’ after filing for divorce from Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez reportedly feels “relieved” after filing for divorce from Ben Affleck, even though she didn’t want to end their two-year marriage.

“It was incredibly difficult for her that Ben chose to walk away from their marriage and move on with his life, leaving her behind,” a source told People on Monday.

“She didn’t want a divorce. She wanted to work things out. They love each other. Jennifer is not the type to give up. It was almost torture for her to wait.”

The source shared that the “On the Floor” singer “seems relieved” since filing divorce papers in Los Angeles last week.

“Her family and friends agree that it was the right decision,” the source continued, explaining that J.Lo is “surrounded by so much love and support” and that she “will be okay” because “she is strong and always comes out on top.”

Lopez, 55, has not been seen in public since officially splitting from Affleck, 52, on the two-year anniversary of their Georgia wedding.

The singer filed for divorce without the help of a lawyer and set their separation date for April 26.

Affleck, meanwhile, was photographed around Los Angeles looking giddy as he picked up his Jack in the Box order from a delivery person at his Brentwood, California, rental home on Saturday.

That same day, a source told Page Six that the “Argo” star was spending time with Kick Kennedy.

We’re told Affleck and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s 36-year-old daughter have been spotted at the Beverly Hills Hotel Polo Lounge and other trendy Los Angeles spots.

Affleck also appeared in good spirits while dining with close friend Matt Damon and the “Bourne Ultimatum” star’s wife, Luciana, at Toscana Italian restaurant on Sunday, according to photos obtained by TMZ.

According to “Entertainment Tonight,” the actor opened up to his “Good Will Hunting” co-star as he got over his breakup with Lopez.

They said the former couple’s marital problems began during their honeymoon in August 2022, when paparazzi followed them around Lake Como, Italy.

“He didn’t like the paparazzi following them,” a source told us. “He’s an international superstar, and he acted like he was surprised they were being followed everywhere.”

Lopez and Affleck took a second stab at romance in 2021 after breaking off their engagement in the early 2000s.

Sources recently told Page Six that their split left the “Marry Me” star “humiliated” after he “took the initiative to get back together.”

Lopez even based her 2024 Amazon Prime documentary, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” on her relationship with Affleck.

The “Gigli” co-stars eloped in Las Vegas in July 2022, a month before they were due to have their wedding ceremony in Georgia.
