Jennifer Garner threw a ‘wedding for me’ to celebrate her 50th birthday

In news you won’t find in the On The JLo newsletter, have you heard of Jennifer Garner’s 50th birthday?

In addition to an aggressively adorable stint from childhood icon Donny Osmond, the “Alias” alum revealed she’s gone the extra mile with an exaggerated bridal-worthy cut.

“Basically, I had a wedding to myself,” she said in a Town & Country profile published Wednesday. “I was so shocked that I did.”

The event, which took place in April, was originally meant to be a family affair with Garner’s parents, siblings and nephews, but it quickly “snowballed” from there.

And in typical Garner fashion, there was a philanthropic twist to the festivities. Before guests danced to “Rocky Top” by the Osborne Brothers, they were tasked with filling “5,000 backpacks each with enough food to feed a family of four for a program called Blessings in a Backpack.”

“I put everyone to work,” she told the outlet.

Ahead of her 50th birthday, Garner previously revealed she was looking forward to the celebration, telling Extra, “I don’t know what we’re going to do, but I can’t wait.”

A present came a little early when Osmond wished a very overwhelmed Garner a happy birthday in person by surprising her at a restaurant with a cake in her hand.

“My first (pre)birthday surprise was a doozy – the one and only, legend in his day, object of my childhood adoration and devotion @donnyosmond showed up to knock my purple socks off,” Garner wrote alongside sweet video.

Garner’s birthday came on the heels of her ex-husband Ben Affleck proposing once again to Jennifer Lopez, to whom he first got engaged nearly 20 years ago. The couple then celebrated their romance with two wedding ceremonies, where Affleck’s three children with Garner — Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Sam, 10 — were in attendance.

Garner’s 2005 nuptials to Affleck were an extremely low-key affair. The couple tied the knot on the beach with no friends or family except for “Alias” co-star Victor Garber, who officiated.

As to whether Garner plans to ever remarry, she said the idea of getting married was not high on her priority list.

“I don’t know. I’m so far from that. And I don’t know if marriage should be part of it…I mean, I definitely don’t think I’ll be single forever,” Garner told People in 2021 “But now is not the time. I don’t need to complicate it; I’m fine.”

And yet, the engagement rumors surrounding Garner and her boyfriend John Miller never stop, especially after she was spotted wearing a diamond ring last month.
