Classics like “13 Going on 30” never get old, so here’s Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo thriving and reuniting almost 20 years after the film hit theaters and cemented the duo as romantic comedy royalty. .
The two stars gave fans the ultimate pleasure (aside from a new Razzles pack, of course) by posting a selfie together from the set of their new movie on Tuesday night.
“Wishing the dust works!” Garner captioned a photo of the two beaming, referencing the film’s magical plot. “And I had a perfect day with my old friend.”
Ruffalo returned the favor, adding in his own caption, “Reconnect with an old friend.” Does anyone know where we can get Razzles in Canada? “
Fans immediately inundated the comments with requests for a “13 Going on 30” sequel that picks up with the characters following their happiness forever.
“Petition for a 13 Going On 30 sequel IMMEDIATELY. We’ll worry about the concept later ”, a person wrote on Twitter.
“I am absolutely convinced that world peace could be achieved if 13 out of 30 had a sequel”, another added.
One fan even came up with a potential script for the film, writing, “Ok, I know Jen said no 13 in progress of 30 sequel, which makes sense, but like ….. what if there was a spin-off about Jenna and Matty’s daughter Please.
While a follow-up to the film is unlikely, Garner and Ruffalo’s new project together seems like the next best thing for a full-fledged sequel.
The couple are set to appear onscreen together for the first time since the romantic comedy directed by Gary Winick in the upcoming Netflix film “The Adam Project” alongside Ryan Reynolds, who plays a man who must travel through time to get the job done. help from her 13 year old self.
Seems familiar? Well, Garner and Ruffalo would be playing Reynolds’ parents in the time travel comedy, which will also star Zoe Saldana and Catherine Keener.
All these years later, “13 Going on 30” clearly still holds a special place in Garner and Ruffalo’s hearts, as each celebrated various birthdays in the film.
Last April, Ruffalo celebrated his 16th birthday in a cute post, writing on Twitter: “Happy birthday to 13, 30 today! Remember what the world was like when the Razzles were all the rage? Miss this time.
“Fifteen years ago today # 13GoingOn30 debuted, performed with ❤️ by our beloved Gary Winick 😇 and a handful of loving hardcore producers (3 brilliant women – before it was cool to be directed by women!), ”Garner wrote in a separate article in 2019.
“I feel so, so lucky to have had the experience of making this happy movie,” she added. “And even luckier to be a part of something that all these years later can still make people smile.”
