Valencia sacked head coach Javi Gracia after Sunday’s 3-2 loss to Barcelona.
The La Liga club have collected three points in their last six league games and sit 14th in the table, just six points ahead of the relegation spots with four games remaining in the current campaign.
A club statement said: “The club would like to publicly thank him for his hard work and dedication during his time coaching the team, and wish him the best of luck for the future.”
Former Spain and Valencia defender Salvador González ‘Voro’ will take the lead of the first team on an interim basis following the dismissal of Gracia.
Former Watford boss Gracia was appointed to a two-year contract in July 2020.
