US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will host the next Indian Economic and Financial Partnership (EFP) meeting on Thursday with her Indian counterpart, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Yellen will host the meeting on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, an official announcement said on Tuesday.
Sitharaman is currently traveling for almost a week in the United States. This meeting builds on the recent momentum in US-India relations and will address a range of critical issues including economic recovery from the global pandemic, climate finance, multilateral priorities, financial regulation and AML / CFT, a declared the Treasury Department.
Yellen, the Treasury said, will host the eighth meeting of the U.S.-India Economic and Financial Partnership on Oct. 14 with Federal Reserve Board Chairman Jerome Powell, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman of the India and Governor Shantikanta Das of the Reserve Bank of India. On Wednesday, the finance minister is expected to attend G-20 meetings and interact with investors at a roundtable hosted by the US India Business Council and CII.
