Jan. 6 investigation contains ‘lots of new evidence’ pointing to Trump’s ‘guilt’

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) told CNN’s “Situation Room” on Wednesday that the Jan. 6 House Select Committee had a lot of new evidence to present at Thursday’s hearing.

Anchor Wolf Blitzer asked, “What new evidence can we expect your committee to present at tomorrow’s hearing?”

Raskin said, “Well, we have a whole bunch of new documentary evidence and statements that establish the pivotal role that Donald Trump played in his overwhelming culpability in these events. I don’t think any reasonable, open-minded observer can look at what we’re going to do tomorrow and what we’ve done in these hearings and put it all together and not come to a single conclusion that nothing None of this would have happened without the will of Donald Trump. Had he accepted his defeat after losing in over 60 federal and state courts, if he had simply accepted it like other presidents have in the past, none of this would have happened? But the political coup and all the events surrounding the attempt to overthrow Joe Biden’s majority in the Electoral College, the insurgent violence, the mobilization of the crowd, it all stemmed from the will and determination of one man to seize the presidency. And it’s Donald Trump. I think we have a lot of new evidence that will make this very clear to the American people. »
