James ready for Chelsea trip to West Ham but Chalobah joins Tuchel’s injured list

Kante has yet to recover from his knee twist, while Ben Chilwell (knee) Mateo Kovacic (hamstring) remains out.

Thomas Tuchel is grappling with a growing injury list, but the return of James, who missed the game midweek with a blow, is a boost.

Both Jorginho and Timo Werner were unused substitutes for the Vicarage Road game, with Tuchel opting to let the pair stand – who are in contention to start at the London Stadium.

Tuchel said: “I almost need a list [for how many players] did not train with Kovacic, N’Golo, Ben Chilwell and Trevoh Chalobah. They are all out for tomorrow. Everyone is available.

“Each player released is one player too many. There are a lot of midfielders [out]. For weeks we were without Kova and N’Golo.

“Ben Chilwell is long, we know that. For Trevoh, we need more exams to see how bad the injury is.
