James Corden mocks Biden’s ‘strong economy’ spin in extended White House visits segment

Even late-night TV diet comedians aren’t buying Joe Biden’s view that the economy is in great shape.

CBS The late show host James Corden recently visited the White House in what Biden administration officials no doubt thought was a roomy room they could easily control. Instead, Corden briefly went into rough mode when he balked at being told the state of the US economy was “strong.”

Corden was preparing to take questions from the White House press corps, speaking with former White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

PSAKI gave Corden a list of word associations to help him deal with the press. “War with Russia: bad”, “CDC: good”, “Economy: strong”.

Corden replied in disbelief, “Is it?”

Many prominent economists and business leaders are bracing for a deep recession as soaring inflation and out-of-control gasoline prices continue to crush American families.

As Breitbart New reported, a key measure of inflation showed groceries in May cost U.S. households 11% more this year than last, the biggest annual price rise since December 1980. A new Gallup poll has found that two out of three Americans are struggling with rising gas prices.

The vast majority of Americans believe the country is heading in the wrong direction under President Biden.

An Associated Press/NORC poll found that 85% of Americans think the country is headed down the wrong path, up 36% from January 2021, when President Joe Biden took office.
