Jake Paul took an unexpected spree on Twitter during which he discussed the Premier League title race on Sunday.
Manchester City maintained their narrow one-point advantage as they drew 2-2 with Liverpool at the Etihad, with fans watching around the world.
One of those supporters was none other than YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.
Before kick-off, he tweeted: “Man City vs Liverpool is a draw.
“City have a home ground… but Liverpool are on fire at the moment.
“I bet on the Reds and @MoSalah.”
He then followed up during the first half and said: “FACTS: We call football football in America because of the Brits.
“The British invented the term football, we just took it up and then created our own football.”
At half-time, with Liverpool trailing 2-1, Jake tweeted: “The Reds need to create more penalty kicks in the second half or it will be a Blues win.
“I can’t ignore the home advantage and those foul calls. Let’s go Liverpool!
And at full time, having failed to win his bet, Jake tweeted: “Well I didn’t win, but I didn’t lose. #MCILIV – two best teams in EPL.
Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for City after just five minutes.
Diogo Jota ensured neither goalkeeper would win a clean sheet as he equalized just eight minutes later.
City regained the lead in the 35th minute as Gabriel Jesus fired home.
And Sadio Mane equalized again early in the second half.
Despite attacking substitutions and chances for both teams, neither found a winner and the match ended 2-2.
