Jake Paul was eager to give his reaction to Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez’ shock loss to Dmitry Bivol on Saturday night.
The professional boxer-turned-YouTuber has repeatedly insisted he will fight Canelo one day, telling talkSPORT last week that he will face the Mexican ‘after I become world champion’.
Alvarez was chasing a world title at light heavyweight, but WBA champion Bivol put in the performance of his life to top the pound-for-pound king of boxing and score a unanimous decision.
Paul posted on Twitter saying Canelo was ‘badly’ defeated and went on to explain how he can beat the Mexican too in just three years.
“And just like that, Canelo Alvarez loses to Dmitry Bivol,” Paul began. “An incredible fight from Bivol. I am two inches taller than Bivol. I weigh 20 pounds more.
“Give me three years and I’ll take Canelo out the same. He’s on the ropes like he’s won, he’s only won three rounds the whole fight.
“Eddie Hearn, fuck you. You can suck the shit out of me. I come and beat Canelo in three fucking years. I put this on my mom. Congratulations Dmitry Bivol.
“He showed that Canelo is easily beaten by a bigger man, which I’ve known all this time. Believe in your kids and don’t listen to those British scumbags like Eddie Hearn,” Paul concluded.
Hearn, who promoted Canelo’s fights on DAZN, called Paul an “average fighter” during press for Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor, which explains Paul’s tirade towards the Matchroom kingpin.
Canelo is still the undisputed super middleweight champion and is already a four-weight world champion at just 31 years old.
Paul is 5-0 with four knockouts to his name, but he has only faced athletes from other sports who are boxing for the first time, with the exception of Tyron Woodley as he has faced him twice .
The Problem Child has yet to face a boxer with a single win on his resume, although he was scheduled to face Tommy Fury – who at the time was 7-0 – but Fury pulled out of the fight with an injury.
