“Jake Paul needs a dance partner and he knows who that partner is”- Tommy Fury discusses prospect of rearranged fight with Youtuber as he gears up for a spot on Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte undercard

Tommy Fury has revealed his hopes of fighting Jake Paul before the end of 2022, saying he’s “ready to go”.

The 22-year-old Briton was due to face the Youtuber-turned-boxing star in a huge clash at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida in December but was forced to withdraw for medical reasons.

Since then, Fury has been training hard and could be involved as part of brother Tyson Fury’s WBC heavyweight title undercard against Dillian Whyte – a fight that will be live on talkSPORT.

His attention will then turn to rearranging the must-see fight with “The Problem Child,” Paul, after a bitter war of words between the fighters.

Speaking exclusively to talkSPORT, Fury said: “I’m fine, I’ve recently been away for a little training break.

“I’ve been training since January 1, fully into camp and so I’m ready, fit and ready to go now.

“All the work has been done and I don’t even have a fight in sight.

“I think it shows everyone how motivated I am, how serious I am about the sport and looking to have a very active year.

“I’m looking to get this fight back at the end of the year.

“Jake Paul is not stupid. Tyson just made 100,000 here at Wembley, who is he going to fight who is going to get him pay-per-views?

“Obviously anyone watching Jake Paul is not logging in to see Jake Paul because otherwise he would have had over 60,000 pay-per-view purchases.

“He needs a dance partner and he knows who that partner is.”

When asked if the fight could happen this year, Fury replied, “Certainly.

“I intend to get a win on the undercard. That’s the plan, that’s what’s in the works at the moment and we intend to look at that fight at the end of the match. ‘year.

Tyson Fury has weighed in on the potential fight between Fury and Paul, saying his younger brother’s presence could guarantee the American Youtuber ‘millions’ of buys.

He said, “I don’t know what he has to go through? Get hurt in training camp? There is not much to cross there. You can’t make everyone happy, there will always be someone unhappy.

“The mistake people make is trying to make everyone happy and you can’t. It’s his business and his injury so when he recovers he’ll get back into boxing.

The Fury brothers are hoping for a big year in boxing

“Frank is going to keep him busy this year and hopefully he gets the fights he wants and fights.

“It’s pretty clear to see now that Jake Paul needs Tommy Fury. Because Jake Paul made 60,000 buys against his last opponent, which is pathetic. If he had fought Tommy it would have been millions,” Fury said.

“We know who needs who these days. If they fight, they fight, if they don’t, they don’t. I know it’s not by Tommy. Tommy wants to fight, he wants it back but I don’t think they want to, so that’s what it is.

“They’re good at what they do and at what they do and that’s it. But with Tommy, he’s a young boy and he’ll be back.

“He has plenty of time to be good.”
