Jadon Sancho has said he ‘loves’ Borussia Dortmund and is ‘very happy’ at the German club, amid links with a move to Manchester United.
The England international is still reportedly at the top of United’s wanted list and did not damage his reputation on Saturday with a handsome brace in a win over RB Leipzig.
According to reports this week, up to FOUR clubs are reportedly interested in signing Sancho this summer, after Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said the winger would be allowed to leave under a ‘gentleman’s agreement. ” and provided that “ certain conditions are met ”.
United tried but ultimately failed to sign the England starlet last year as negotiations collapsed after they failed to reach Dortmund’s huge asking price of £ 108million.
But reports have claimed that Sancho’s valuation has now fallen to around £ 80million and that the Red Devils are ready to revive their pursuit when the transfer window opens.
It is widely understood that Sancho – along with his in-demand teammate Erling Haaland – is keen to play in the Champions League next season, which could add more pressure on Dortmund to sell as they battle for the top four.
But BVB’s hopes of finishing in the top four and keeping their key men were bolstered on Saturday when Sancho hit a late winner to seal a 3-2 victory over RB Leipzig.
The victory took Dortmund to fourth place with two games remaining, while giving rivals Bayern Munich the Bundesliga title.
After a week of rumors, Sancho was asked about his future at Westfalenstadion after the game.
And his answer will not be good news for Manchester United fans.
“Am I going to leave the club? I don’t know about my future… ”said the 22-year-old star.
“I’m very happy here in Dortmund right now. I love the club, the fans and the team.
“They gave me my first professional start”.
Sancho also sent a message to Dortmund fans after their big win, as they continue their quest for Champions League qualification.
