Erik ten Hag sent his best wishes to Sebastien Haller, who was diagnosed with a testicular tumour.
Haller was forced out of Borussia Dortmund training camp after falling ill on July 18 with a medical examination later revealing the tumor.
Former club West Ham as well as current and former players were among many to send their best wishes to the 28-year-old.
And Manchester United boss Ten Hag has also offered his support for the player he signed at former club Ajax and coached at FC Utrecht for two years.
“It’s horrible,” Ten Hag told MUTV after the Red Devils’ pre-season win over Crystal Palace. “I have a fantastic relationship with him.
“He’s my friend, my striker for several years with Utrecht and with Ajax.
“Hearing such news is devastating. My thoughts are with him and his family and I hope he recovers quickly.”
Haller will undergo further examinations at a specialized medical center as he begins his rehabilitation process.
