We want to continue like this, working hard every day to do well. playing at the weekend. Arteta is the leader, the boss, even the boss of the club. Since his arrival, a lot has changed, including everyone’s mentality… It’s thanks to him.”

Mikel Arteta on whether Lacazette will stay beyond this season: “With Alex, it’s very clear what he brings to the team. Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, Arteta opened up about his time as Arsenal manager. He said:

“Well, when I came into management I had a clear vision of what I wanted to achieve with Arsenal. I wanted to build a winning team which was also financially viable and which could convey the values, identity and passion that the club has had over the years. To do this, we had to take important decisions and move the club in the right direction, so that we can also achieve this in the long term.

“There were some very tough decisions to make. First of all you have to come up with a plan. You have to have a lot of support within the club to do it and then the decisions have to be fair. So far I think that one of the biggest successes has been creating – as a club – a culture and an atmosphere where our players, our staff and everyone else can feel that this is a place where they can fulfill their potential.”

“It’s a place where they can grow, they can participate and everyone can add value to the club. When you get that, you create a real sense of belonging and that’s something more powerful than just self-interest. I think that’s been one of our biggest wins so far.”
