Throughout this Tuesday, the director of the Institute of Health for Wellbeing (Insabi), Juan Antonio Ferrer Aguilar, along with 350 other employees of the agency, they were held within the institute’s central facilities in Mexico City by about fifty doctors from Oaxaca.

According to their slogans, they denounced having been unjustifiably fired, so they went to the capital to start a dialogue table with the heads of Insabi, the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) and the Social Security and Services Institute for State Workers (ISSSTE) from the early hours of noon.

The director of Social Communication of the agency, Bertha Alicia Galindo, reported to Infobae Mexico that the members of the Unique Movement of Casual Workers of the Oaxaca Health Services (Mutesso) They arrived at the facilities from 1:50 p.m. to demand the immediate reintegration of around 1,000 doctors who attended cases in the first line against COVID-19 in the Oaxacan state.

However, the federal agency, through a clarifying note, reported that this action was impossible to carry out because this health personnel was never hired by it, but by the government of Oaxaca.

The conflict became relevant during a tour of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) through the state, since Mutesso representatives approached the president to present their requests, for which he ordered that his employment situation be reviewed.

They were summoned to a dialogue table together with the heads of the federal health sector, who determined that the workers were not part of the IMSS, the Issste or the InsabiTherefore, the Oaxacan entity had to attend to their reinstatement.

However, no agreement was reached, so they decided to stand outside the Insabi headquarters supposedly because On November 22, a meeting had been agreed with the directors of the IMSS, Issste and Insabi, which were never aware of such an agreement.

Despite this, they invited the members of the Mutesso to form a delegation to carry out a dialogue table. The only condition was that the accesses were released to allow the free passage of people, question that they did not accept and decided to take the facilities and the hostages.

During the seven hours they were inside there was an approach by the Coordination of Human Resources and Personnel Regularization of Insabi, but the option of dialogue never existed “because the Mutesso leaders did not accept to free the accesses to the building”.
