Israel tightens security amid deadly wave of terror attacks

TEL AVIV — Israel is bolstering its military forces in the West Bank and making a wave of arrests as its leaders grapple with the country’s deadliest wave of terror attacks in years.

At least 11 Israelis died in three attacks last week. Fearing more, the Israeli army said it was sending 12 additional battalions to the West Bank – where Tuesday’s attacker came from – as well as two additional battalions to its border with the Gaza Strip and 15 special forces companies to help the Israeli police. Authorities said police were suspending their usual activities to focus on counterterrorism in Israel.
