Israel-Hamas war, Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza, negotiations on the release of hostages
Injured men, women and children were taken to hospitals in Gaza after Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalya area in northern Gaza, Reuters videos filmed on Tuesday showed.
“They destroyed our homes above our heads, we thought we were safe,” an unidentified woman said at a hospital, according to Reuters.
The Israeli military said Tuesday morning that the Israeli Air Force was “preparing the battlefield” by focusing on “terrorist targets” in Jabalya.
“During the battle, the division hit three tunnel shafts in the Jabalya area, in which terrorists were hiding,” the Israeli army said.
A resident of the neighboring Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, Yasser Abu Watfa, told CNN that conditions in Jabalya are “scary” but that many people living there have not been evacuated.
The worsening health crisis in Gaza: Doctors at the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza continued to work despite shortages of fuel, electricity, food and water as Israeli tanks surrounded the building, according to a message from the hospital.
“The situation is very dangerous and difficult, occupation tanks, military vehicles and occupation soldiers are positioned near the Indonesian hospital and civilians at the hospital are in a state of fear and horror “said journalist Anas Al-Sharif, who was at the hospital, told CNN.
“The bodies are piled on top of each other inside the hospital, the smell of death is everywhere,” Al-Sharif said.
Large plumes of smoke were seen rising from Gaza early Tuesday as strikes continued into the early morning, according to live video feeds. Israel has ordered Palestinians to evacuate northern Gaza as it targets Hamas infrastructure and fighters.

The hospital is being evacuated and the injured are being transferred to Kamal Edwan hospital, said journalist Issam Badr.
CNN is contacting the IDF for comment on any shelling near Al-Awda.
Ashraf Al-Qudra, spokesman for Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry, said the north’s health sector “has completely collapsed.”
“Hospitals in northern Gaza are all completely closed and no medical services can be provided in the north,” he said.
