Before the season, Saini said he would focus on learning various aspects of fast bowling from Boult.
I can’t wait to meet Trent Boult during the IPL. He is someone who has achieved so much in international and IPL cricket, and it will be a great experience just to talk to him about various aspects of fast bowling,” Saini said in a statement.
“I will be more focused on watching his activities, and hopefully that should help improve my own game as well.
Saini picked 17 wickets in the IPL with a saving of 8.47. He was also part of the Delhi squad during the league phase of the Ranji Trophy taking five wickets in two matches. He shared his excitement to play for the Royals in the upcoming season.
“I look forward to working with the group of very experienced coaches and a group of talented players. The Royals are known for fostering a fantastic atmosphere around the group, and I’m just looking to experience that and connect with everyone and kick off this season.
“I am also delighted to work with Kumar Sangakkara and Lasith Malingaand tap into their brains on various aspects of the game. I think it will be a great opportunity for me to learn and prepare, further develop my skills and contribute to the performance of the team,” added Saini.
Sanju Samson will lead the team in the tournament. Samson will have a strong team this season to help him win the title. Saini praised the Kerala Wicketkeeper saying he creates a fun atmosphere around the team.
“I share a great rapport with Sanju. I spent a lot of time with him in the national team and had a lot of talks with him off the pitch,” he said.
“I feel like it’s going to be a new experience, playing under him; he is someone who creates a fun atmosphere around the team, which makes everyone fit in quickly and feel part of the team. Having missed the majority of IPL 2021 due to injury concerns, Saini said he has been going through tough times.
“I couldn’t play a lot of games last season, but I think I approach this season thanks to a lot of hard work that I put into me, both on and off the pitch.”
