IPL 2022 | We’re running out of adjectives and superlatives for Jos Buttler, says Kevin Pietersen

Kevin Pietersen has backed Jos Buttler to continue his stupendous display in the 2022 Indian Premier League as he is in ‘sublime’ form in the current edition. Buttler has already achieved three magnificent centuries for RR this season, against Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals.

Joe Buttler is a leading contender for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the current race Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The 31-year-old Englishman, who represents Rajasthani Royals (RR), has already totaled 491 runs in seven matches this season at a strike rate of 161.51. He also raised three hundred, against Bombay Indians (MI), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC).

The cricketer turned commentator Kevin Pietersen was in awe of Jos Buttler after the latter’s last hundred against the DC, saying he “run out of adjectives and superlatives” for his compatriot.

“We lack adjectives and superlatives. The IPL is made amazing by rounds like these. Viewers love it, we love it, everyone in the studio loved it. I mean some of the blueprints he played can’t be bought. You can’t practice that (because) nobody sells it,” Pietersen said on “Star Sports.”

“Either you have it or you don’t. He has such a beautiful talent and in such sublime form. When he starts hitting like that sometimes you just have to say you know what, this guy is so good. He took his time and capitalized.

Buttler broke nine sixes and as many fours in his magnificent 116 on 65 balls against the DC to take the RR to 222/2 by the end of the innings. In response, the DC closed 207/8 after a controversial call for a full hip pitch created a lot of drama in the final.

Additionally, Pietersen backed Buttler to continue his prodigious form with the bat.

“Jos did an amazing job against Delhi Capitals (in the previous game). I’m sure he will continue to do so because when you’re in that kind of shape in the tournament, you beat and beat and beat, especially when the wickets are this good. So I don’t expect him to change the way he plays,” he added.
