Rajasthani Royals have retained Sanju Samson, Joe Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal ahead of the 2022 IPL Mega Auction. Meanwhile, Rajasthan-based franchise skipper Samson said the auction will be very important for his team as the franchise is eager to prepare a base for the next 5-6 years in the IPL.

“This auction is really important because we know that we could prepare our base very well for the next 5-6 years. So we made sure to follow everyone and give the opportunity to as many players as possible during the trials,” Sanju Samson said in a press release.

Samson felt that the franchise’s goal was to target players who could adopt the team’s values.

“Our goal now is to target those who we believe fit our vision, can embrace our values ​​and help our team get back to the top,” he added.

Kumar Sangakkara, director of cricket for the Rajasthan Royals, said the franchise was eager to clear up the team as they were considering a long-term association.

“Our analytical assessments are detailed, from the information we have collected about the players, through to their integration into a central database. We further filter the data, supported by a robust analytical process that allows us to arrive at the right metrics further refining our overall player identification process. It’s really quite a comprehensive process,” Sangakkara said.
