IPl 2022 | Royals tweet upsets captain Sanju Samson, team sacks social media team

Indian Premier League side Rajasthan Royals sacked their social media team on Friday after captain Sanju Samson expressed his displeasure over a tweet. In the now-deleted post, the Royals’ Twitter account posted an edited photo of Samson sitting in the team bus with sunglasses and a rolled-up towel over his head. It was captioned “Kya khoob lagte ho”, complete with a laughing emoji.

But the post was not well received by Samson, who took to Twitter to express his disappointment. “It’s ok for friends to do all this but teams have to be professional…rajasthanroyals (sic),” Samson wrote in response.

The Royals then officially announced on Twitter that they would be reviewing their digital strategy and appointing a new social media team soon. “In light of today’s events, we will be making changes to our approach and our team on social media. All is well within the squad ahead of the first game as the boys prepare for SRH” , said the RR on his official Twitter account.

The Royals begin their IPL campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 29 at MCA Stadium in Pune.
