IPL 2022: “KKR is a lucky team for me” – Pacer Umesh Yadav

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Umesh Yadav is delighted to be back with the franchise ahead of the 2022 IPL season. The 34-year-old has represented KKR in the past and tasted success by winning the 2014 edition of the IPL.

Umesh Yadav didn’t have a great seasons spent in the IPL and was not sold in the IPL 2021 auction. However, KKR gave him a chance to redeem himself and will be keen to repay the faith that he was testified.

Speaking in a video posted to KKR’s Instagram handle, here’s what Yadav had to say about KKR’s performance in the 2022 IPL season:

“I feel good to be back! We won the cup in 2014. The memories with KKR are great. I’m delighted to be back. Because KKR gave me this experience of winning a trophy, you can therefore say that KKR is a lucky team for me.”

Yadav will now be in quarantine for three days with his family. He added:

“My family is here with me and even my baby, Hunarr is here, I rarely get bored when she is here so these three days of quarantine will pass easily.”

Umesh Yadav has been a reserve peacemaker in the Indian Test Squad for some time. Although he didn’t get any playing time in the Test series against Sri Lanka, Yadav believes he is in great shape after training with the Indian team.

He stated:

“I was in the test match before that. Training and training was great. I also feel good about my fitness. So I’m looking forward to start the season and do my best for KKR and the team. objective will be to win the trophy.”

With Pat Cummins unavailable for the first few matches due to domestic commitments, it will be interesting to see if KKR immediately hands Umesh Yadav an IPL return.
