IPL 2022: ‘Hope Punjab dominates Rajasthan, will have to get rid of Buttler soon’

Former Indian out-spinner Harbhajan Singh has a soft corner for the Punjab Kings (PBKS) as he himself hails from the state. As PBKS face a tough IPL 2022 encounter against Rajasthan Royals (RR) today, Harbhajan hopes Punjab will bring their A-game to the table.

Talk to sportskeeda On the show ‘SK Match ki Baat’, Harbhajan Singh explained why Punjab need to beat well especially against a powerful RR bowling attack.

The 41-year-old also believes PBKS will have to get the dangerous Jos Buttler wicket as soon as possible. He said:

“I hope Punjab will dominate Rajasthan today. They have a very good team, but their season has had its ups and downs. They hit brilliantly but sometimes got knocked out for low scores around 100-130 If they want to win against Rajasthan, they will have to get rid of Jos Buttler soon. When you beat the favorites, your confidence automatically increases.

Important to support your players: Harbhajan Singh on cutting and changing RR

RR had a tough last week as they lost to Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders and are in danger of finishing outside the top two spots.

They made a few too many changes in the middle order, mixing up Daryl Mitchell, Karun Nair, Rassie van der Dussen and James Neesham without giving them a consistent streak.

Harbhajan Singh thinks RR should stick with what worked for them in the first half of the season. The 41-year-old believes if the Royals support their players they can find their way back to winning ways. He stated:

“You look for changes when you don’t get the results you want from certain players. However, these are the same players who have won you so many games, so it’s important that you support them. If they’ve brought you up here, they will certainly get you ahead.”

PBKS and RR batting units were inconsistent at times. Maybe that’s why it’ll be interesting to see if this game offers a high-scoring game.
