The cricketing world was shocked when news of Shane Warne’s disappearance broke on March 4, 2022, as players around the world mourned the loss of the Australian great. Many cricketers shared their memories of the legendary bowler and Dinesh Karthik also shared such an incident.

Cricketers and fans around the world expressed their shock at the incident and tributes to the late Shane Warne poured in. Many players spoke of the memories they had of Shane Warne and the senior wicket-keeper hitter Dinesh Karthik was one such player who also opened up about such an incident which he shared with the former footman.
Speaking of Shane Warne, Dinesh Karthik said, “He was a larger than life personality. Anyone who has played with him will talk about his adventures on and off the pitch. He was a colorful personality and a great character. There are many fans of him mainly for his skills and his personality, and his ability to do special things,” he said in a video uploaded by the RCB.
“I remember in South Africa in my second year of IPL, he was bowling and I had gone to bat. He said, “Hey kid, let me see what you got.” So I was like, ‘okay’. I was sure to play spin bowling. He just opened the field and said, “Let me see you hit there.” I was a young kid, so I sent the ball and gave him a superior advantage. He grabbed the ball, kissed it and said ‘goodbye, see you soon’,” Dinesh Karthik recalled of the incident.
Shane Warne was part of the Rajasthani Royals from 2008 to 2011 and helped the franchise win the trophy in the first IPL season.
