There have been very few instances where the batter has started returning to the flag before the umpire has even called him. Shikhar Dhawan became the latest addition to the roster as he started walking after handing the ball to the wicketkeeper before the referee even ruled him out.
After losing their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Delhi Capitals match did not start well for the Punjab Kings either. DC won the toss and opted to play first following the current trend. Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan started well as they scored 27 runs from three overs. However, Shikhar Dhawan’s actions produced a remarkable incident in the fourth of the set.
Lalit Yadav was playing the fourth over and Dhawan was facing the fourth over delivery. He threw a delivery outside the leg stump and Dhawan tried to row him but he caught the glove. Panting showed his brilliance behind the wickets and took an absolutely clean take. Dhawan started walking towards the pavilion even before the referee raised his finger to announce his judgment. Fans took notice of Dhawan’s actions and flooded Twitter.
