Former CIA officer and station chief Scott Uehlinger told Breitbart News on Thursday that intelligence agencies cannot be cleansed of political and partisan corruption unless the president has unitary power over the decisions of the federal government personnel.
Uehlinger discussed the leftist and partisan politicization of federal intelligence agencies on Thursday’s edition of SiriusXM Breitbart Daily News with special guest host and retired Navy SEAL and FBI agent Jonathan Gilliam.
“This is a real source of concern, not only among ordinary people, but [among] people who served in those agencies,” he said. He pointed to the pervasiveness of such political orientations among intelligence agency employees.
He remarked: “The infection in these organizations is not just about political appointees. It’s basically everyone from middle level and above, if not lower, as they are all beneficiaries of a super liberal education.
“They just graduated from college with this really weird worldview, for the most part,” he added. “Unfortunately, I kind of agree with the idea of breaking them up because I don’t really see how they can be meaningfully reformed unless the president has the power to lay off virtually all federal employees. at will.”
Gilliam called on conservatives to enter institutions dominated by leftist politics while accepting a long-term horizon for reform.
“I think conservatives should flood every agency,” Gilliam said, “and I think they should do the same with politics. I don’t care if they run as a Democrat or a Republican. We should get conservatives everywhere, as much as possible”
He concluded: “Republicans have never played the long game. In ten years these people will begin to rank, and in 15 years tthey will be at the top, and then they can change recruiting divisions. … It’s not a short game. We’re never going to have someone who’s a president depoliticize the FBI or the CIA.
