Insider thinks Tom Brady should retire

When Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady joined the team after initially retiring this offseason, it surprised many.
In Brady’s first two seasons with the Bucs, they won a Super Bowl and advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs last year. However, they have struggled this season, currently at 3-4, and could miss the playoffs.
Analyst Mike Florio spoke on Professional Football Discussion urging Brady to retire, saying the game is too rough and too fast for the 45-year-old quarterback.
Florio said:
“The sport is too dangerous. The game is too violent. The players are too big and strong and fast. And Tom Brady is too old at this point. beyond his 45th birthday a quitter.”
Florio added that he thinks Brady could make a decision before Week 18 to retire.
He added:
“But at some point between week 1 and week 18, definitely. I’m with you, Mike. And there’s no shame in this. And I want him to write, but I think that it would be worse for him to say, ‘I’m not a quitter.'”
Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have struggled so far
For seven weeks of the 2022 regular season, the Buccaneers hold the NFC South tiebreaker with the Atlanta Falcons as the two teams share a 3-4 record.
Tampa Bay beat Atlanta earlier this season in their first meeting, which is why they currently own the tiebreaker.
Last season, the Bucs suffered all but four regular season losses with a 13-4 record. They’ve matched their loss tally in just seven games this season and don’t look like the juggernaut they’ve been the past two seasons.
Many look to the woes of Tom Brady’s marriage to Gisele Bundchen to explain the Buccaneers’ pedestrian performance this campaign.
However, it’s still early in the season and the Bucs could get hot in December/January and still have a good playoff run.
