Innovative mobile radiology equipment deployed by the Nouvion-en-Thiérache CH with the HIRSON CH imaging team

The Hauts-de-France Regional Health Agency financed the acquisition of mobile radiology equipment. This innovative tool facilitates access to a radiological examination for patients who have difficulty getting to an imaging technical platform or an imaging office in town.

To improve access to care for residents of the Nouvion-en-Thiérache region, the Hauts-de-France Regional Health Agency financed the acquisition of a mobile radiology device allowing x-rays to be taken as close as possible to the patients, without having to go to an office or radiology department. As the Nouvion Hospital no longer has a radiology department, this new equipment will allow easier access to this examination for people who have difficulty traveling to more distant hospitals or radiology practices. This is the first equipment of this type deployed in Hauts-de-France.

The mobile imaging team in Thiérache is supported by radio manipulators and radiologists from the Hirson Hospital. It will initially intervene in nursing homes in the sector, thus making it possible to limit the movements of their residents. The device is also intended to be used within the Nouvion CH. The mobile device makes it possible to take x-rays of the lower and upper limbs, lungs and pelvis with high-definition results, comparable to examinations carried out with a conventional device.

Sambre-Avesnois-Thiérache: progress for the health of the region’s inhabitants

The deployment of the mobile radiology device is part of the Hi-No-Ve health project carried out by the public health establishments of Hirson, Nouvion en Thiérache and Vervins, under the impetus of the ARS Hauts-de-France. It illustrates the ambition of this project to link the different structures together and thus offer the population a health offer close to and graded with local professionals.

It is part of the progress of the pact for the success of Sambre-Avesnois-Thiérache (SAT pact), the second part of which was signed in November 2021 by the President of the Republic. The ARS acts alongside its partners to help improve the state of health of the inhabitants of this territory bringing together 311 municipalities, on a series of key issues: strengthening and coordination of the offer and the attractiveness of the territory for health professionals, promotion of behaviors favorable to health, commitment to the health of the most deprived, development of e-health, promotion of territorial synergies between health actors, etc.
