Indiana House back in session Monday ahead of abortion ban vote

CHICAGO (CBS)– The Indiana House returns to session Monday afternoon before voting on a near total ban on abortion.

Protesters blocked the halls of the State House when the bill passed the Republican-controlled Indiana Senate over the weekend with the minimum number of votes needed.

The bill prohibits abortion from the time of implantation. This makes it one of the strictest abortion laws in the country.

Indiana’s measure allows exceptions for rape and incest.
