• Swiatek suffered a disappointing straight-set loss to Elena Rybakina in the fourth round of the Australian Open earlier this year.
• Since that loss, Swiatek has yet to lose a match on the WTA Tour. She is on a 13-game winning streak.
• The defending champion is in great shape. She is yet to drop a set at the Indian Wells Masters this year. The Pole aims to pursue the dream race.
• She began her campaign in the WTA 1000 event with a dominating 6-0, 6-1 win over Claire Liu.
• The Pole then moved past opponents like 32nd seed Bianca Andreescu, Emma Raducanu and Sorana Cirstea in the next three matches.
• She has now reached her second consecutive semi-final of the tournament.

• Elena Rybakina is aiming to win her first WTA 1000 title. The 23-year-old qualified for the semi-finals after claiming a three-set victory over Karoline Muchova in the quarter-finals.
• She started the tournament with straight-set wins over Sofia Kenin and 21st seed Paula Badosa in the second and third rounds.
• Rybakina lost just three games and earned a dominating 6-3, 6-0 win over Varvara Gracheva in the fourth round.
• She started the year with defeats in the second and first rounds respectively in Adelaide’s two international tournaments.
• At the Australian Open, she made it to the final. The 22nd seed lost in the summit clash against Aryna Sabalenka.
• She then reached the quarter-finals at the Abu Dhabi Open and withdrew from the third round of the Dubai Tennis Championships.

Head to head Swiatek vs Rybakina: Both players won a match against each other. Rybakina won their last encounter. Swiatek meanwhile picked up a straight-sets victory over Rybakina in 2021 at the Ostrava Open. Rybakina is one of the few players to have recently scored success against the rampaging world No.1. She is now looking to repeat the performance. However, this will be easier said than done.

She did, however, look confident before the game saying, “I know that, of course, if I give my best tomorrow, chances are I will win.”
