The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that South Africa will tour India for a series of T20I matches following the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022). It looks like the series against the South Africans will help India prepare for the T20 World Cup.
Cricket fever should not cease even after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that South Africa will come to India. The visitors will play a five-game T20I series against Rohit Sharmaas both teams look to prepare for the T20I World Cup which is due to take place in Australia in October.
It is reported that the series will start 10 days after the end of IPL 2022. According to a report from Cricbuzz, the series will be played in several cities. The cities that will host the games will be Cuttack, Vizag, Delhi, Rajkot and Chennai.
The Indian team will be brimming with confidence after back-to-back wins over Sri Lanka and West Indies in the shortest format of the game. The streak could be good from India’s perspective as they seek to prepare for the T20 World Cup which is set to kick off in Australia from October this year.
Earlier it was reported that Bangalore and Nagpur were the two cities believed to house two of the 5 T20Is. However, Cuttack and Vizag received the matches likely because both cities missed T20I games in the recently concluded series against the West Indies.
