India Captain White Ball Cricket Rohit Sharma, during the pre-match press conference, spoke about the recently concluded IPL auction. Rohit Sharma said all of his team members should focus on the T20I series against West Indies as the bidding is over. During the press conference, he also clarified that there is no consideration for the IPL when it comes to playing for Team India.
During the virtual press conference, Rohit Sharma said, “It was understood that the guys would go through ups and downs, an emotional feeling in themselves which team they would play in the IPL. But that was done before -yesterday we had a big meeting with everyone and asked them to focus on the color blue for the next two weeks whatever happened happened, for the next two weeks they have to focus on playing for India, nothing else”.
“It’s something we talked about and all these guys are professionals, you can expect once they wear the colors of India, it’s all about India, nothing else has importance,” added Sharma.
“Honestly, there’s no consideration for the IPL here. We’re not looking at where players will hit for their franchise in the IPL, we’re looking at where they’ll be hitting for Team India, simple as that. We’ll be focusing on that, these guys are playing different roles for their franchises, what we need them here is important. The IPL will come later, we’ll deal with that,” he said.
“It’s time for us to get it right and the guys have been spoken to about what we expect of them. Whether it’s a bowler or a batter, clarity has been given to them and it’s up to them how they want to adapt,” said Rohit Sharma.
