India defeated West Indies in the opening game of the three-game T20I series at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The player of the match was Indian leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi who made his debut and performed brilliantly taking 2 wickets in his four over quota against a powerful batting formation.
Debutant Ravi Bishnoi was named Player of the Match for his game-winning performance in the opening game of the T20I series against West Indies at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The young leg spinner scalped two wickets for just 17 runs in his four over quota. Bishnoi was on top of his game and did not allow the powerful West Indian batsmen to take the game away from India.
The leg spinner played tight lines and stuck to shots making sure visitors were stifled during runs during his spell.
During the post-match presentation, Ravi Bishnoi revealed that precision in length is the strength of his bowling
“The nerves are soothed now. I felt very good, it’s everyone’s dream to play for India and I felt good. West Indies are one of the best teams in T20 and I got the chance to play against them. I will try to cut the wide in the next game. My strength is my length,” he said.
Asked about the dew on the ground, he said: “There wasn’t a lot of dew in our sleeves. I haven’t played a game with a lot of dew so far, but it affects you. We’re training however for that. I didn’t think I was the man of the match in my very first match, it’s a dream come true”.
