IND versus SL 2022 | Ravindra Jadeja improves team combination in all formats, believes Ashish Nehra

Ashish Nehra praised Ravindra Jadeja for his improved game and said he will improve the team’s combination in the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. Nehra also added that Jadeja is no longer a No. 7 or No. 8 player and can hit even at No. 6 if the sticking conditions are right.

India are set to play a three-game T20I series starting February 24. Ravindra Jadeja will return to the team for the series and will feature in Tests and T20Is. Jadeja scored 256 runs and bagged 46 wickets in the T20Is. Also, he has 2195 carries and scalped 232 Test wickets. Indian old stimulator Ashish Nehra felt that Jadeja will improve the team’s combination in all formats.

“Jadeja’s return is a plus, he always improves the team’s combination in all formats. Over the last two or three years the way he’s improved his stick he’s not a No. 7 or No. 8 anymore and in ODIs and T20Is he can hit even at No. 6 if the conditions are good. said Nehra on Cricbuzz.

India come into the series after a clean sweep against West Indies in the recent ODI and T20I series against West Indies. On the other hand, Sri Lanka lost a T20I series against Australia but they recorded a victory in the last match against the hosts.

“Hopefully Sri Lanka will play well here considering they have just returned from a tour of Australia and will give India a better fight than the West Indies,” he said.

“Antilles had a few moments to themselves in ODIs and T20Is but they were never able to finish them. Sri Lanka also went through something similar in Australia and they would like to change that score here.
