IND against SA 2022, 4th T20I
AB de Villiers is known in the world of cricket for his innovative shots while batting and scoring many runs with these shots. Dinesh Karthik replicated one of his slog sweeps against Dwaine Pretorius in the fourth T20I and also scored half a century to take India to a decent total.
After Rishab Panting lost the toss for the fourth consecutive time, India were invited to beat first. The team was in trouble at one point as they were close to 40/3 at one point. However, Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik sewed a 65-run partnership to bring the team to a decent total. Dinesh Karthik scored half a century with his 55-point shot and also replicated one of the shots AB de Villiers used to play.
Dwaine Pretorius played in the 18th round of innings. He threw a full delivery to Karthik on the first pitch. The hitter ran through the stumps and swept the ball to a deep square leg. His shot reminded everyone of AB de Villers and the crowd cheered.
