‘I’m not Harry Potter’ – Erik ten Hag dismisses praise as Marcus Rashford’s return to form at Manchester United continues

Erik ten Hag refused to take credit for Marcus Rashford’s stunning form, saying, “I’m not Harry Potter.”
The Manchester United striker is on an impressive run, scoring 11 goals in 11 appearances since returning to Old Trafford after the World Cup in Qatar.

As a result, the 25-year-old is currently one of the best performers in the Premier League and shows few signs of slowing down.
United are in action again on Saturday night as they host Reading in the FA Cup fourth round, a game which will be shown live on talkSPORT.
But while Rashford will be hoping to add to the 18 goals he has already scored this season, United’s Dutch manager believes only the striker can claim credit for his spectacular comeback.
Speaking to the media, Ten Hag: “I’m not Harry Potter! It’s just trust.
“Each player has to do and get their own confidence. He fought for it, he invested in it.
“Of course, with my coaching staff, we bring structures, especially in the way of playing which gives him the routines he needs to put himself in the right position.

“But in the end, it’s up to him, to the player, and when the player has confidence then I’m convinced of the way we work – the way of playing is the most important but also the environment and the culture are also important – that the player can give the best of himself.
“It’s obvious that Marcus at the moment is in very good shape, in very good shape. I think day by day, practice by practice, game by game, the routines are taking effect.
