CHICAGO (SCS) — Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White has tested positive for COVID-19 and has mild symptoms, his office announced Thursday.

White, 88, tested positive for the virus on Wednesday and will work from home during his quarantine, his office said.

He is doubly vaccinated and received two booster shots, and will follow the guidelines of the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Public Health during the quarantine, his office said.

White tested positive the same day as Dr. Allison Arwady, commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health.
