I was only talking to Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni, says Rishabh Pant on dealing with his low phase

Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant is one of the most important players in the national team and is also highly rated by skipper Rohit Sharma and team management. Rishabh Pant spoke about his low phase and revealed that he only keeps in touch with Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni.

Rishab Panting is one of the best wicket-strikers in world cricket at the moment. The young hitter from Delhi has had his share of ups and downs in his international career which spans just over 5 years since his debut. Pant is a game-changer and his stick is proof he can win a game from any position.

However, Rishabh Pant who replaced MS Dhoni after the former India captain decided to retire, he has had quite a few tough times. He was recently interviewed by The Week magazine and he said: “It was a difficult time and I left everyone out. It was difficult for me to reach out to a lot of people. I only believed that inside me; I wanted to prove myself to the world. I didn’t want to have negative thoughts. I was waiting for my chance. I was talking to Rohit [Sharma] bhai and Mahi bhai a bit. But above all, I continued to believe in myself.

During the conversation, Rishabh Pant said: “It was obviously very difficult. It was a low phase in my life. You feel good when you come from difficult times and you play like that (series in England where he scored 50 out of 101) But, at the same time, I don’t think of either [fifties] too much. I just play on the merit of the ball. [However,] I discovered that I could better control my instincts.”
