Michael Cohen, a former personal attorney for Donald Trump, told MSNBC’s “Alex Witt Reports” on Sunday that prosecutors with the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office have convened a grand jury in a criminal investigation into a silent payment. in 2016 to porn star Stormy Daniels. asked him to come on Monday “as a rebuttal witness.”
Cohen said: “This morning I got a whole series of phone calls from reporters asking if I’ll be back in the DA’s office tomorrow as a rebuttal witness for whoever they’re bringing there- down tomorrow. Whether it’s before the grand jury or just to meet them for an interview, I’m not sure, but yes, I was asked to make myself available and be at the DA’s office tomorrow as a rebuttal witness.
Witt asked, “Rebuttal to whom or for what? Has this been clarified? »
Cohen said, “No, I don’t know who the person is. Of course, once they find out who the person is, I’ll know what the problem is. I was personally involved. Again, I don’t know. It’s a bit premature for me to answer a question on a topic where I don’t know who the person is and whether or not that person is going to, truth be told.
