Hurricane Helene is ravaging communities across the southeastern United States as massive flooding and high winds batter Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

As of Saturday, the Category 4 storm had killed at least 52 people, according to the Associated Press. Millions more are left without power and some have been displaced from their homes, as trees are uprooted from their roots and the torrent destroys people’s belongings.

Evacuations began before the storm made landfall and have continued since.

President Joe Biden said he and Vice President Kamala Harris are committed to deploying whatever resources are necessary to help drive the recovery.

“As we turn our attention to recovery efforts, we will ensure that no resource is spared to ensure that families, businesses, schools, hospitals and entire communities can quickly begin their path to rebuilding.” , he said on Saturday.
