Huntsville police respond to child injured in dog bite

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) responded to an incident where a child was bitten by a dog Friday afternoon.

According to the HPD, officers arrived at Griffith Drive and Evans Avenue where a child had been badly bitten by a dog.

Officers were able to locate the dog and contact the owners. Huntsville Animal Control has taken the dog into their possession.

Although the child’s injuries were serious, they were not life threatening. The parents took them to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.
