Huntsville man charged in Atlanta drug smuggling operation

MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – A Huntsville man was arrested Friday, August 5, after authorities said he was caught smuggling a large amount of drugs into Madison County.

Jason Phillip Bost, 41, was arrested last week as part of an investigation by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office’s Narcotics Unit and Street Crimes Unit.

Authorities say the arrest came during an undercover investigation into a “major drug trafficking organization” that operated from the Atlanta area to Madison County.

The sheriff’s office says narcotics officers stopped a vehicle that Friday. This vehicle was driven by Bost, according to the authorities.

A probable cause search was conducted with the assistance of K9 Maverick.

It was during this search that officers found over a pound of methamphetamine.

Bost was incarcerated in Madison County Jail on $150,500 bond.
