Huntsville Animal Services waives adoption fees for most pets ahead of vacation

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama – Huntsville Animal Services is waiving adoption fees for pets in the shelter before the Thanksgiving vacation.

The shelter said fees are waived for most adult dogs from Nov. 22-24, while adult cats can be adopted for just $ 10. Puppies and kittens can be adopted for $ 50.

“We have amazing animals that would make great companions during the holiday season and beyond,” said HAS Director Dr. Karen Sheppard. “If you can take a foster dog for a night or two, it’s always better than being in a kennel.”

Each animal is vaccinated, spayed or neutered, provided with a microchip and comes with a municipal license and a free bag of pet food.

For people unable to adopt, the shelter offers an animal reception program during the holidays.
