Interviewed by RT France, columnist Alexis Poulin returned to the illegal party in Redon which led to a police operation lasting several hours. For him, “there is a real problem of dialogue between the police and young people”.
Several hundred people gathered on June 18 in Redon, Brittany, to participate in an illegal music festival in tribute to Steve Maia Caniço. A festive gathering – illegal because of sanitary measures – punctuated by clashes between participants and the police who came to dislodge them.
Molotov cocktails were thrown at the police and a party animal had his hand torn off, according to the prefecture. Columnist Alexis Poulin returns to RT France on this incident, which lasted about seven hours.
According to him, this “raises the question of the strategy of the law enforcement doctrine”. “How do you come to have six hours of clashes for a party?” He asks. “There is a real problem of dialogue between the police and young people, the organizers of events,” said the columnist, who adds that even if the event was not authorized, it should ” not prevent dialogue [ou] to avoid this kind of clashes [et] of violence ”.
