How and where to watch the Olympics tonight – NBC Chicago

History hangs in the balance as the world’s best snowboarder is looking to end his Olympic career with one last medal.

Team USA climbed the medal standings after a stellar evening of epic performances, but Thursday’s events will be headlined by some of the Olympics’ greatest veterans.

Here’s what to watch in the next 24 hours in Beijing and how you can watch it live.

Snowboard

Tonight is Shaun White’s big moment. The American snowboarder will take on the 2022 Winter Olympics halfpipe for the final time on Thursday, hoping he can cap off a storied career with a historic gold medal.

White, who has competed in the halfpipe event at the last four Olympics, qualified for the 2022 Games as one of the last qualifiers in his sport, and now the 35-year-old is hoping that he can go down in history with yet another gold medal.

White, snowboarding legend and three-time Olympic gold medalist in this event, is competing in his last Olympic Games. If he manages to win gold in Beijing, he will become the only athlete to win four gold medals in the same event.

The men’s halfpipe final is Friday at 7:30 p.m. CT.

Alpine skiing

The women’s alpine ski program moves to the dreaded ‘Rock’ speed course for the super-G on Thursday night, and NBC and Peacock have live coverage of the star-studded event.

The event will mark Mikaela Shiffrin’s return to the ski slopes after her disappointing start to the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Skeleton

Just as its name suggests, skeleton is one of the scariest and most dangerous sports known to man. The winter sliding sport consists of a runner, covered head to toe in protective padding, lying face down and dashing headfirst down a frozen track.

Skeleton is the third fastest sport in the Winter Olympics, with top sled speeds reaching around 130 km/h.
