How 5 actors physically turned into real famous people

Turning an actor into a real on-screen public figure can be an even bigger challenge for Hollywood makeup artists than creating fictional characters, because viewers already have a sense of what that person looks like. It means bringing out all the details that viewers remember about that person while still making room for the actor to play. Makeup artists who transformed Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill in “Darkest Hour” and Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly in “Bombshell” created lifelike prosthetic pieces that changed the look of actors’ faces while removing details like scars for that the emotions are still manifesting. Actors Taron Egerton and Rami Malek worked with coaches to help them move and play instruments just like Elton John and Freddie Mercury when they worked on “Rocketman” and “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Meanwhile, Margot Robbie got some CG help to do one of Tonya Harding’s most famous routines in “Me, Tonya”. “The Darkest Hour” is now available on request.
